November 23-26: American Academy of Religion Annual Meeting, "Identity, Agency, and Responsibility in the Context of Emerging Neurotechnologies: A Protestant Christian Perspective". Presenter: Dr. Neil Messer
Dr. Messer will be presenting at the American Academy of Religion's Annual Meeting in San Diego. This paper explores questions about human and individual identity, agency, and moral responsibility raised by these technological prospects.

Nov. 23-26: AAR Roundtable: Dr. Devan Stahl, "Bioenhancement and the Vulnerable Body" for The Body and Religion Unit
Participants in this round table were part of a grant from the Issachar Fund as well as an edited book volume, Bioenhancement and the Vulnerable Body: A Theological Engagement (Baylor University Press, 2023) to examine bioenhancement technologies from the perspective of minoritized communities. Authors within the volume critically examined bioenhancement technologies with two key questions in mind: what does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be vulnerable?
